Chevron are the developers of the Gorgon LNG project on Barrow Island off the coast of Western Australia. It is one of the world's largest natural gas projects.
Water is a critical resource for the project given the remoteness of the location and the fact that it is a relatively small island surrounded by the Indian ocean. The project could not commence, nor could people or construction be supported on the island without a large water supply. Chevron needed to supply a large amount of water in a very short lead time and a cost effective price. The requirement was for three million litres. The water bladder tanks needed to be able to be interconnected to act as a single 3 mega litre water tank - and also to be able to be filled and discharged at the same time.
Australia's Largest Water Bladder Tanks
Waterplex worked closely with the Chevron joint venture team to design a bladder tank storage solution to meet their specifications and requirements. Each bladder tank weighed over three tons and when deployed was more than 1,000 square metres. The bladders deployed on Barrow Island by Waterplex are the largest bladder tanks ever made and deployed in Australia. The entire water storage solution was delivered and deployed in full and on time by Waterplex.
Waterplex is Australia’s number one bladder tank company supplying industrial and commercial and lining solutions. for more information, contact the commercial bladder tank experts at Waterplex on 1300 72 66 70 or visit www.waterplex.com.au.
