Rainwater Tanks for a Community
St George’s Anglican Church community in East Ivanhoe in Victoria has many thousands of people visit its facilities each year. The community was looking for rainwater tank storage that would allow them to harvest rainwater to use in their facilities. It was calculated that they would save in excess of 100,000 litres of water each year if they were able to install around 40,000 litres of water tank capacity for harvesting rainwater from the roof. The challenge was to find the space for water storage without impacting on the small amount of land available in the church grounds.
Rainwater Tanks for Under Floor Locations
The team at Waterplex worked with one of the parishioners from St George's to find a an acceptable solution. They identified locations for 10 framed eco sac® bladder tanks to store 40,000 litres of rainwater under the floor. There was one metre of height clearance and 10 bays that were about 1500mm wide and 7m long.
Waterplex introduced one of its Green Plumber preferred installers to install and interconnect the 10 bladder tanks and associated equipment including a header tank to supply water to the facilities on the grounds. The result meant that 40,000 lts of rainwater could be harvested and stored out of site using previously wasted space.
Eco sac® framed bladder tanks can be customised to fit into most available spaces. The frame ensures peace of mind knowing that the bladder tanks will not move when filling and emptying.
